Technical description IC-7100

The IC-7100 has it all: shortwave, 2m and 70cm, all operating modes - even D-Star! The remote control unit is ideal for installing the 100W transceiver in the car, while the bright and clear LC touch display makes operation much easier.

Modern digital technology ensures particularly good reception: A 32-bit DSP (Digital Signal Processor) provides functions such as Twin Passband Tuning, Noise Reduction (noise blanking and noise suppression), CW Autotune, Autonotch, numerous filter modes with different bandwidths and filter curves without expensive, separately procured crystal filters and much more throughout the entire reception range from 30 kHz to 199.999 MHz and from 400 to 470 MHz in all modulation modes. The AGC also operates digitally during reception and transmission, making it particularly accurate and flexible.
The transmitter has an integrated SWR meter and provides an output power of 100 W on all shortwave bands from 160 to 10 m and additionally 6 m. On 4 and 2 m the IC-7100 still offers an output power of 50 W and on 70 cm 35 W. The DSP also provides a very clean output signal, changeable filters and a high quality speech processor/compressor. Two antennas can be connected for the KW and VHF/UHF bands.
With a width of 16.5 cm, a height of 6.4 cm and a depth of only 7.85 cm as well as 500 g, the control unit of the IC-7100 is handy and yet not too small, but also the main unit is compact with 16.7 cm x 5.8 cm x 22.5 cm and 2.3 kg and finds a place everywhere. The power supply of 13.8 V / 22 A is possible with a power supply unit, but also mobile or on a fieldday or expedition.

Application description IC-7100

The beveled 48.6 x 75.9 mm touch display immediately catches the eye on the IC-7100. The most important functions can be called up quickly and easily by directly touching the individual menu items on the display. Frequency input is also possible directly via the display with a superimposed keypad.
The control unit can be placed on the station table to save space without the need for an additional tilt bracket, while the transmitter and receiver can be stored elsewhere. Even in the car, only the display needs to be mounted in the passenger compartment. All the necessary buttons and controls are also on the control panel. The microphone is connected on the back of the control unit, also the powerful loudspeaker is located there.
In the IC-7100 all components for D-Star operation are already built in. The unit has an internal repeater list, which can be accessed quickly and easily through the touch display. With an external GPS receiver, the IC-7100 can also automatically select the nearest relay from this list. It almost doesn't get any easier or more convenient than this.
For digital operating modes, the IC-7100 is the ideal companion thanks to its wide range of connection options. In addition to the classic CI-V interface, there is, among other things, a USB interface for connection to the computer and, of course, connections for a Morse key and a linear output stage. Furthermore, the optional RS-BA 1 remote control software allows the transceiver to be operated remotely via the Internet. So that all settings are always available, the IC-7100 offers the possibility to save the settings on a SD card, as well as QSOs. Logfiles or CQ calls as well as automatic replies in DV mode.
